Stretched Canvas Prints
A stretched canvas print is a type of artwork that involves printing onto canvas, then stretched the canvas over a wooden frame known as stretcher bar in the framing industry, the design/ photo is often wrapped around the edges of the frame either as Mirror Wrap or coloured border so as to not lose any of the image or a gallery wrap which uses 50mm of the image see below examples.
We use a 100% cotton 380gsm textured canvas with a high quality gesso coating to take ink saturation. The 100% cotton gives the canvas a nice texture also using 100% cotton canvas instead of a poly mix and sustainable plantation pine timber stretcher frame is consistent with our effort to reduce plastics in the environment.
The largest canvas print attainable on our printers is 1.5mtr max short edge x 12mtr max roll length.
Floating Framed Canvas Print
Floating frames is a type of picture frame that is intended for use with a stretched canvas print. The canvas print is placed inside the floating frame, which adds a modern contemporary effect to the canvas print, effectively combining the ‘gallery wrap’ effect of the canvas with a nice framing finish. The canvas print effectively ‘floats’ within the wooden frame.
We use a 40x10mm L Shape hardwood moulding finished in a Matt Black or White Frame and Raw Tasmanian timber option shown below.
Rolled Canvas Print
What is a Rolled Canvas? A rolled or un-stretched canvas is just the printed canvas without the wooden frame, it is delivered rolled ready to be framed your a local framer or draped as it is without a frame. Most people order rolled canvas prints for ease when moving them long distances for example overseas. Sample image below.
Paper Prints
Paper print options include 290gsm archival Fine Art paper or 180gsm Matt Poster paper or 260gsm Lustre Satin paper and Pearl High Gloss photo papers. The largest print attainable on our printers is 1.5mtr max short edge x 12mtr max roll length for fine Art paper and 110cm max short edge x 12mtr max roll length for matt poster paper, lustre and pearl photo paper.
Paper prints are rolled and placed in a cardboard tube for post to your destination or held for local pick up.
Timber Framed Paper Print
We print on the premium quality, award-winning fine art paper made of 100% cotton rag or matt coated poster paper then mount the print onto a thick Australian made wooden frame; we offer a choice of a white, black or raw oak timber frame moulding. The wooden frame is 20×20 for small sizes and 40x 20mm thick, for large sizes.
All framing is manufactured in our framing workshop with attention to quality and detailed finishing. We use a premium grade acrylic as opposed to glass for the framed prints if being transported by courier to avoid breakages, it looks as good as glass but ensures the art lasts longer and can be easily shipped.
We also offer a matt in the frames which are the 50mm border with cutout that the image fits behind, options include white, black or cream plus other options of ‘no mat’, meaning the image runs all the way to the edge of the frame, plus a ‘printed border’ option which is increasingly more popular this is used on oversized large sizes when matt size is unavailable.
